Upcoming EventsTitle: Fire of desire – With BhaktiMarga Swami Location: Urbanedgeyoga, 324 Bloor St W Description: “Do what you feel is best for you?” is the new age mantra for the 21st century. The goal of the mantra is to acquire the object of desire and attain the much sought after destination of happiness and eternal joy. However we all know that it’s not as simple as it seems – desires and fire have much in common. The more you feed it, the more it burns. Join us for a dynamic presentation and spiritual insights with Bhaktimarga Swami to explore the nature of desire and learn some ancient yoga tricks on taming the ‘Fire of desire’. Bhaktimarga Swami, famous around the world as the ‘Walking Monk’ joins us Jan 21st for a thought-provoking discussion on the ‘Fire of desire’. He has been a monk for almost 4 decades and has done pioneering work in using arts and theatre for spiritual development. It was a youthful quest for life that led Ontario-born Bhaktimarga Swami, to adopt an Eastern order of monastic life. He achieved a remarkable feat in 1996 when he went the way of a pilgrim and walked on foot cross country from west to east going full circle. Since then he has walked across Canada 2 more times and also several countries like Ireland, Guyana and Fiji. He likes to share his unique experience and fond memories on the road. He is a consistent feature in “The Longest Road”, a recent documentary. check out: www.urbanedgyoga.com to RSVP |
