Deva discovered yoga in the late 80's at the local YMCA. Later, deciding to take the practice more seriously he sought out a yoga studio to broaden his horizons. "The Yoga Sanctuary" was just that, a sanctuary away from the external influences so one could strengthen the internal practice of yoga.
Intrigued to delve into the spiritual side of the ancient Hindu yogic system - Deva found himself at the Hare Krishna temple in the heart of Toronto. Studying the Bhagavat-Gita (The Song of God), otherwise known as the "Crown Jewel of India", Little did Deva know the transformation that was to occur.
Spending the last decade in temple life, studying various yogic systems such as Hatha, ashtanga, and Bhakti, both here and India, Deva received his yoga teachers certificate, he continues to enjoy sharing the physical and spiritual benefits of yoga.
